New Weinig Cube 3 delivered into Hertfordshire.
This is the perfect spot for a Cube 3, a small workshop, with not a lot of room, placed firmly against the wall, yet still needs to get to the rear of the machine for servicing. Yes, we can place the pallet truck under the centre of the high quality mineral concrete heavy base and manually pull it out. Well, as long as the truck takes 2.5 Tonne!
Once the maintenance is done back to position to continue its job.
Standard motors on this Cube 3 and yet we can still plane a 5-metre board of Oak 150mm square when required.

Profimat 30 – 5 head, delivered into Pandor Ltd, North Kent in July 2021. Producing planed all round sections and standard profiles so much quicker and higher quality than a spindle moulder. The cutterblock is for corner rounding or chamfering. This is repositioned when needed, and normally sites below the fence and bed line when not in use. The corner profiling is done on the base of the right and left spindles, on the top inside, and adjustable for width on the outside of the top spindle. It is extremely useful.
It can be set by the Memory Plus system; this can store up to 500 profiles. It advises the operator, which tool goes to what position, the setting value, and confirms its position. Each profile is set in the same position for absolute repeatability!
Looking closely at the electronic digital display, a simple arrow advises the operator which way to wind the handle to take out the backlash in the spindle, the dual display disappears when in the correct position and sends a signal to the Memory Plus.
Profimat 30 is perfect for small woodworking shops, joinery & window production producing small profiles.

If you have not been to MWAG it is worth a visit. So much technology has been delivered from this factory.

After many years of planing on the existing Weinig P22n no.2 manufactured in Tauberbischofheim (Weinig AG) in 1988 they have replaced it with a new Cube 3.
The client is extremely pleased with his new acquisition, he was mainly four-side planing on the Profimat 22n 5 head and really did not have a need to profile material. “It is so much faster, easier to set and extremely safe, so much more relaxing.”
Even changing the blades is done in double quick time, the blocks don’t come off the machine and the throw-away tip knives are changed in position. The knives when used are first turned over and then changed from top to btm/btm to top, and left to right/right to left to use the full length of the knives.
For me it was great to see the new Cube 3 in action earning money!

Hertfordshire Timber merchant progresses to a Weinig Unirip 310. Before moving out of the London area most material was ripped on large band resaws, but as time has gone on production has changed. Today more hardwood is being ripped, less deeping is required and more importance is put on straight material. Unfortunately, the bandsaws just follow the bow in the board and even so-called traditional straight-line edgers do not produce parallel boards which both cause issues at the moulder.
After testing with an old Wadkin PU Straight-line edging saw for a short period, the Unirip 310 was purchased.
The client advises that boards are coming out straight, parallel, and saving a lot of production time. No additional operations to straighten are required and on longer runs multiple pieces can be produced. The saw spindle does not use spacers, the hydraulic Quickfix system is the Weinig patented solution, moving the saws to position by hand and tape measure or by positioning with small cut to size blocks. The system is working perfectly!

Hertfordshire Timber merchant progresses to a Weinig Unirip 310. Before moving out of the London area most material was ripped on large band resaws, but as time has gone on production has changed. Today more hardwood is being ripped, less deeping is required and more importance is put on straight material. The client wanted a very safe, low-cost cross-cut saw, that was easy to use with no frills and low maintenance.
The Opticut C50 was perfect, supplied with the sliding front guard, the timber is pushed across to the fence by the operator rather than longitudinally through a tunnel. The two-handed control keeps fingers well away from the blade, the pneumatic top guard clamps down the timber, and the front guard gives the operator added security.
There are none of the optional stops, pushers, or roller tables on either side of this client’s machine. Just a simple homemade bench to the right marked up with a marker pen so the pieces are cut to a rough length!

If you have not been to MWAG it is worth a visit. So much technology has been delivered from this factory.

Surrey Joinery manufacturer purchases first UK Cube 3.
After many years of planing on the existing Weinig P22n no.2 manufactured in Tauberbischofheim (Weinig AG) in 1988 they have replaced it with a new Cube 3.
The client is extremely pleased with his new acquisition, he was mainly four-side planing on the Profimat 22n 5 head and really did not have a need to profile material. “It is so much faster, easier to set and extremely safe, so much more relaxing.”
Even changing the blades is done in double quick time, the blocks don’t come off the machine and the throw-away tip knives are changed in position. The knives when used are first turned over and then changed from top to btm/btm to top, and left to right/right to left to use the full length of the knives.
For me it was great to see the new Cube 3 in action earning money!

New Cube 3 delivered to East Hertfordshire!
Over time workshops evolve, and that is certainly the case here. The Profimat Fortec, which I sold back in 2003 has been extremely busy and reliable over its lifetime, but now it is time to move on. Mostly used for PAR, the Profimat Fortec did some moulding in its early life. It is still a working machine but just a little tired and so much slower to set than the New Cube 3!
The Cube 3 was delivered at the end of last week just waiting for the engineer to commission, it is still on the skates after positioning. Looking forward to seeing the Cube 3 hit the ground running.

Specified for a window application with various options included to make life easier for the standard profiles to be produced. However, the most important point to save time on short runs is the organization of the tooling and settings.
The Powermat 600 memory plus system stores the data to enable fast setting of fixed dimensional throwaway tip tooling. With this quality tooling supplied by Oertli, repeat profiles are made extremely easy and fast to position. Even better when the tools are close to hand. Great job!
